Baltimore Lightning
The Baltimore Lighting were a Continental Basketball Association franchise that played one season at the Towson Center during the winter of 1985-86. Absentee boss Dr. Seymour Kilstein acquired the franchise in 1977 and by 1985 he was the CBA’s longest-standing owner. He had previously operated the Lightning out of his home base of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. After the one dreadful winter in Baltimore, Kilstein finally sold his franchise in 1986. The Lightning relocated to Rockford, Illinois where the team played 20 more seasons before going out of business in 2006.
