History
The Federal League was a third major league and rebel circuit that sought to challenge the established National and American Leagues. It was established in 1913 as a minor league with teams in Chicago, Cleveland, Covington (Kentucky), Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, and St. Louis. In 1914, the FL declared major league status competing directly with the American and National Leagues.

The dates for the Hoosiers and Peppers are incorrect. Hoosiers functioned in 1913 and 1914, then moved to Newark for 1915 and became the Peppers (or Pepper).
