Quebec’s Sherbrooke Canadiens were the top farm club of the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets for two seasons from 1982 through 1984. Top players to play at Sherbrooke during the Jets era included goaltender Brian Hayward and future Major League Baseball star Kirk McCaskill. The Jets franchise disbanded in the spring of 1984 and was immediately replaced by a new American Hockey League franchise, the Sherbrooke Canadiens, affiliated with the Montreal Canadiens.
