Background

The East-West League was a major Negro League that played in 1932. It did not complete its inaugural season. It’s considered a major league, though, because it featured one of the strongest teams of the time, the Detroit Wolves. The Hilldale Club, former members of the original Negro National League, which had folded in the winter of 1932, were also members. Future Negro National League II members the Baltimore Black Sox and the Homestead Grays also participated in the East-West League.
