Laredo Lemurs

The Laredo Lemurs were an independent baseball outfit in the Texas/Mexico border city of Laredo from 2012 through 2016. The team’s investor group persuaded local officials to finance construction of $18 million Uni-Trade Stadium to house the team. The Lemurs won the 2015 championship of the American Association. But attendance dropped precipitously from each season to the next and the troubled club closed up shop in May 17th on the eve of what would have been its sixth season.
