Camden Riversharks
The Camden Riversharks were an independent professional baseball team that played at Campbell’s Field, a $24 million waterfront re-development project at the base of the Ben Franklin Bridge into Philadelphia. Though the ‘Sharks ultimately played 15 seasons in the Atlantic League between 2001 and 2015, the untimely death of team founder Steve Shilling in 2003 and the team’s debt burden from the construction of Campbell’s Field undermined the the ball club’s health for years on end. The Riversharks folded in 2015.
