Portland Rage
The Portland Rage were a two-year entry in Roller Hockey International, a start-up summertime league that sought to capitalize on the 1990’s surge of interest for in-line skating. The Rage played out of Memorial Coliseum, the Rose City’s NBA arena at the time, during the summers of 1993 and 1994. The 1994 squad made a Cinderella run to RHI’s Murphy Cup championship series before falling to the favored Buffalo Stampede in a two-game sweep. The club quietly disbanded after the season.
