The Baltimore Monuments were a men’s professional Slo-Pitch softball team that played for one season during the summer of 1977. The team actually played 30 miles outside Baltimore in Bowie, Maryland. The Monuments advanced to the American Professional Slo-Pitch League World Series, where they lost to the Detroit Caesars in a four-game sweep. The club disbanded following the 1977 season.

From 1977 to 1982, men’s slo-pitch softball was a professional sport in the United States. The first pro league was the American Professional Slo-Pitch League (APSPL) which launched with 12 clubs in the summer of 1977. The Louisville-based Kentucky Bourbons were one of the just three franchises to persist through all six seasons of the professional era.
