There have been two incarnations of the Arena Football League. The original league launched in 1987 and shut down (at arguably the peak of its popularity) after the 2008 season amidst a dispute over the league’s business model and labor costs.
After a year off, a group of former owners purchased the original league’s IP rights out of bankruptcy court in November 2009 and launched a much leaner, non-unionized Arena Football League in the spring of 2010. The new league failed to re-capture the national profile of the original league and closed its doors in November 2019.

I have 2 of the 1987 Championship Game programs. Is there a market for these?
Hi William,
Yes, those Arena Bowl I souvenir programs would probably sell through e-Bay, though they aren’t exactly going to let you retire early. We’ve had those in our e-Bay store on a few occasions in the past. I’d probably list them at $30 – $40 “or Best Offer” including shipping assuming they were in excellent condition.
The market for Arena Football stuff is pretty niche. It’s the same small handful of guys that are buying most of these items. So if the regulars already have this program, it may sit there for a while before you find the right buyer. Good luck!
