Moncton Golden Flames

The Moncton Golden Flames were the top farm club of the NHL’s Calgary Flames from 1984 to 1987. For the club’s final two seasons, the team also received players from the Boston Bruins in a shared affiliation. During the Golden Flames’ brief three season run the team helped develop future NHL stars Brett Hull, Gary Roberts and Mike Vernon. Prior to the 1987-88 AHL season, the franchise became a Winnipeg Jets farm team and changed its name to the Moncton Hawks.

Moncton Hawks

The Moncton Hawks were the last in a series of American Hockey League clubs that played at the Moncton Coliseum in New Brunswick between 1978 and 1994. The team served as the top farm club of the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets from 1987 to 1994. Professional hockey has never returned to Moncton since the Hawks folded in June 1994.
