                  The Texans had been a planned team for years with the San Antonio Riders and Calgary Stampeders both having plans to become the Texans at different points. Finally in 1995 the Sacramento Gold Miners made the move in their search for a more suitable stadium. The team was successful on and off the field, with solid attendance and a dominating 52–9 playoff victory. Unfortunately the CFL scrapped the American experiment at the end of the season and the Texans lasted just one year.
