The New Haven Ninjas were a One-Year Wonder that were part of Arena Football 2, a small-market offshoot of the original Arena Football League (1987-2008). The Ninjas went 6-10 in their only season of operation in 2002 before arena problems left the team homeless. The Ninjas’ season-ending victory over the Rochester Brigade on July 27th, 2002 before an announced crowd of 4,588 was the final professional team sporting event played at the New Haven Coliseum.

Hartford Hellions

The Hartford Hellions indoor soccer team was the creation of Glastonbury, Connecticut accountant/flim flam man William E. Chipman.  Formed on April 26th, 1979 as an expansion franchise in the upstart Major Indoor Soccer League, the Hellions staggered through two losing seasons on the Hartford Civic Center carpet before devout Christians bought the insolvent club, exorcised the (awesome) Satanic logo and branding, and packed the team off to the Bible Belt.
