Rock Hill Chiefs

South Carolina’s Rock Hill Chiefs played in the Class B Tri-State League for eight seasons from 1947 until 1955. The Tri-State League featured teams from North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Rock Hill won the Tri-State League crown in 1950. The Rock Hill Chiefs and the Tri-State League both closed up shop at the end of the 1955 season.

Rock Hill Cardinals

The Rock Hill Cardinals were a South Carolina-based Class A farm club of the St. Louis Cardinals from 1964 through 1966. Despite their relatively short three-year existence, the Cards can lay claim two future Hall-of-Famers with pitcher Steve Carlton (Rock Hill ’64) and manager Sparky Anderson (Rock Hill ’65).
